Goddess Favors

GODDESS FAVOR FAQ

Goddess Favors are ALWAYS OPEN. Favor requests will be limited to ten (10) per month on a first come, first served basis. They are processed around about the 15th and around about the end of the month.

What exactly IS a favor?

Simply put, it's a "gift" from Atia herself. Or in the case of Advanced Favors, one of the other Gods on the island. It may come in many different shapes and sizes, some can also last longer than others. But in the end, they all have the same purpose: to make a character's life on the island just a little bit easier. There are two types of favors available:

FAVOR TYPES

Basic Favors

Regular favors are small gifts like pets or small items from home. Magical items can be requested, but they will be powered down like the original power down upon arrival. Physical disabilities or chronic health issues can be cured. To request this, fill out the BASIC FAVOR form.

Advanced Favors

Advanced favors are for those characters who show Atia and the other Gods that extra effort that makes them take more interest in the Collared. Players must show DOUBLE the Activity in the monthly Activity Check for three out of the six months prior to the Favor Request month (counting the Request Month), in order to request an Advanced Favor. (Fill out the AGF form on the AC) . Because AGFs are a reward for being currently active in the game, AGF AC banked from before the previous six months will not be usable for the purposes of gaining an AGF.

AGFs are larger favors that include the granting (or return of) supernatural powers, limited control over collars, magical items or advanced technology that work (to an extent), and more. AGFs can be 'stacked' and built upon over time. To request this, fill out the ADVANCED FAVOR FORM.

HOW CAN I OBTAIN ONE?

In Character

ICly, it typically involves leaving a small donation or request at Atia's temple and obtaining her "blessing" after completing a task she asks of you. If successful, she will grant your desire, and perhaps a little bit more if you truly excelled at what was asked. If not, then further negotiations might need to be made. The requested favor might also be dropped, but such an action will make it rather difficult for a character to once again obtain Atia's attention.

For AGFs, it is as if the character has asked Atia, or another God, three times in a row or has asked with a particularly convincing plea. Or perhaps simply done something to gain the attention of the God in question. The Gods are fickle creatures and will certainly grant gifts and favors without being outright asked for them - ICly, at least.

Keep in mind that these requests are meant to be a trial. It takes work to give the petitioners what they want, after all. They must show themselves worthy.

Out of Character

OOCly, it involves filling out one of the following forms and leaving at as a comment (which will be screened) on this post:
Regular Goddess Favor:

PLAYER
» Name/Alias: How you're most typically called in the RP.
» Characters Played: We wish to know the other characters (if any) that you currently play. This is merely for information purposes.
» Player Contact Whether it's AIM, e-mail, Dreamwidth PM, give us a reliable way to get in contact with you. We prefer email, as that is the most effective way of asking questions and sending out goddess favor information.

CHARACTER
» Name: The character requesting the favor
» Fandom: A character's series of origin.
» Gender & Age: Their physical/mental gender and age, respectively. You may copy/paste the same wording used in their application.

» Requested Favor: Please be as detailed as possible. If it's not listed in the initial request, it will not be granted. Also, tell us how long you'd like the favor to last. The longer the duration, the more difficult it will be to obtain. A few examples of favors to work with are as follows:
► Improving a character's health if they're (in canon or currently) sick, frail, dying and so on.
► A hefty increase in a character's finances. Whether it's simply giving them Amat, or having their business thrive above all others.
► A favor for another character in the game, such as for those who wouldn't ask for themselves.
► Increasing their physical attributes, such as (but not limited to) strength, speed, or stamina.. In this case, you may ask for only one increase at a time.

» # of attempts getting this favor granted: Basically, how many times has your favor failed to have been randomly selected? The higher this number, the better chances you have of having it selected!
» What makes your character uncomfortable?: What we're looking for here is a few things you'd like to play with or explore ICly but have not had many (if any) chances to do so. These can be anything from forcing your character to face a particular fear, to having to experiment sexually in a way they wouldn't do outside of curses, so long as it is something that would be difficult (though not impossible) for them to face. Be especially detailed in this question as well. We need to know as much as we can about what really brings a character out of their comfort zone so that we may decide on a suitable task before their favor is granted. Do they have secret that they don't want everybody else to know? Fears? Insecurities? Recurring nightmares? A scenario/vision that they don't want to see becoming a reality? The more we have to go on, the easier it'll be for us!

Advanced Goddess Favor:

» Player Contact Whether it's AIM, e-mail, Dreamwidth PM, give us a reliable way to get in contact with you. We prefer email, as that is the most effective way of asking questions and sending out goddess favor information.

CHARACTER
» Name: The character requesting the favor
» Fandom: A character's series of origin.
» Gender & Age: Their physical/mental gender and age, respectively. You may copy/paste the same wording used in their application.
» God/dess you wish to have fulfill this favor: There are eight to choose from for AGFs. You can find out more about each God here.
» Will your character ask it of them or do you wish them to take notice of the character and fulfill the wish?: Here you tell us if your character is going to approach and petition a god for a favor or if they're going to quietly pine away for something they really want. This will let us know if the favor payment is one they'll can be told or if they'll have to figure out what's going on.
» Requested Favor: Please be as detailed as possible. If it's not listed in the initial request, it will not be granted. Also, tell us how long you'd like the favor to last. The longer the duration, the more difficult it will be to obtain.

If asking for a canon power, assume mods are canonblind. Explain - IN DETAIL - what the powers are, how they work, and how you believe they will transfer into a text-based RP environment. Do not give us a list like "Level 1 healing spell, level 4 fireball" and the like, as that tells us next to nothing about what the powers actually are or do or how they will translate over.If you do not give us enough details on the powers the mods can and will reject the request over lack of information.

AGFs have a larger range of what can be granted and, due to them being designed to 'stack' on each other, there are differences in what can be asked for in each subsequent favor. Some ideas of what can be asked for are as follows:
► A low level power re-gain of canon powers for broad-range powers (limited fire abilities, "1st level" magic spells, etc)
► A low level power(s) gain for those without canon powers (improved physical abilities, very limited magic abilities, etc)
► A moderate level power re-gain of canon powers for limited-range powers (super speed, super strength, flight, etc)
► Atia influencing the natives in your favor - for a short time or permanently, depending on the amount of influence.
► A magical item or pet that retains some of it's magical properties.
► A favor of any of the above types for another character that would not normally ask for themselves.

Further examples of Advanced Goddess Favors that have already been granted can be found here

» # of attempts getting this favor granted: Basically, how many times has your favor failed to have been randomly selected? The higher this number, the better chances you have of having it selected!
»Three Links to Double AC: Remember that to ask for an Advanced Favor, you must show DOUBLE the Activity in the monthly Activity Check for three out of the six months prior to the Favor Request month. They must have been recorded during the normal AC checks.
WHAT ELSE?

Nitty Gritty

► It is imperative that players realize that each favor will be handed on a case-by-case basis. The mods will spend an adequate amount of time discussing all aspects of the request before reaching a decision. We may come back to you to negotiate aspects of the favor so that it matches the standards set for favors and does not put your character at an unfair advantage.

► You may obtain a favor for a character that isn't yours. However, it's required that the mun of the character that's receiving the favor approves of it as well. If we find out out otherwise, the favor will be discarded and further action might be taken.

► You may submit favors for each character you currently play, however, only one character in a mun's roster may have their favor granted at a time. If you are requesting an AGF, you must only have double AC for that character.

► Continuing from the above point, while you may submit favors for each character you currently play, you may only have one granted each three months.

► Make sure that EACH SECTION is filled out thoroughly. For AGFs, there should be an (appropriate) God picked - or you risk having it rejected. Make sure there are no one word answers, etc.

► Any further questions are to be directed to the mod e-mail [amat.omnes@gmail.com], or by contacting us through AIM.

Are there any Favors that will not be granted?

Unfortunately, yes, and the list is as follows:

► Anything with the specific intent of causing harm to another character, even if they're played by the same mun.

► Anything that would cause a significant change to a character's personality, whether good or bad.

► Time manipulation powers of any sort.

More may be added, so make sure to check this list from time to time.
